Posted January 18th, 2013 by Jess

Kitty Harbor will have over 80 cats & kittens for adoption this weekend, January 19th & 20th noon until 6pm. There is an amazing assortment — there are Siamese, including a flame point polydactyl, some Maine Coon mixes, calicos, torties, tabbies, cow kitties(black with white spots) and some great oranges and blacks. All types, fluffies and short hairs. We also have some great adults, the mama snowshoe and Onyx the gorgeous black Cymric. This will be your last opportunity to get your new furry friend from us until next June. Please share this info with all your friends, so we can find all these wonderful kitties new homes. We’ll see you this weekend @ Kitty Harbor!

After the sudden health crisis, harrowing decline, and subsequent devastating loss of my beloved feline companion of just 14 years, my home and heart were empty. When I was able to consider new companions, I came to Kitty Harbor. I fostered two sick young’ns and came back for the January Adoption Event.

With a little trepidation, I decided to give the feisty Slasher Siamese kitten a chance; I whispered sweet nothings to him and kept him warm in my scarf and soon he was snuggling against my chest ready for a nap. When he looked straight into my eyes with those Siamese blues and gave me a nose kiss, I knew I was a gonner.

The tawny “classic” marbled tabby teen I fostered–and kept–got adult-size overnight, but he still climbs into my arms for snuggles-and-purrs when he isn’t chasing the “baby” around the place. And I can’t stop petting that soft little furry “baby belly” that just fits in my hand or stroking those big-little black velvet ears, especially when he’s purring away, draped in sleepy limpness on my lap like right now. Oh, here’s the “big boy” come to join us to remind me how exquisitely soft *his* belly is, and surprisingly, his short-haired, tipped, raccoon-like coat is satin-smooth. Now he’s purring, too. Stereo purring…aaaahhh.

So now my place is a mess, my papers are everywhere, my pens and anything else lying out are stolen for “soccer” games, my grocery bill is way up…and my “house” (apt.) is once again a HOME.

Thank you Delyn & Kitty Harbor & everyone who makes this possible!
